CONFERENCE MEETS TO DISCUSS EQUITY IN EDUCATION OUTBACK

Minister Uibo, the Northern Territory Minister for Education, will open the 37th Northern Territory Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association (NT ICPA) Annual State Conference in Katherine on 1-2 April, marking the start of another year advocating for ‘Equity in Education Outback’; this year's conference theme.

“State Conference is always exciting and dynamic” said President Tiani Cook. “Members vote on the most important issues affecting education in the bush and they determine the focus for NT ICPA over next 12 months. We are thrilled Minister Uibo is opening the conference, a strong relationship with the Minister for Education is very important to NT ICPA” said Ms Cook.

This year the conference program will discuss 30 motions, all focused on improving education delivery and outcomes for isolated students.

“State Conference is a very special time” said Ms Cook. “The program is a well-balanced mix. While we focus on the important issues raised by members, guest speakers provoke thought and share insight and information. Members & conference guests will enjoy feeling reinvigorated and reassured we are working together to improve education in the bush”.

End.
